I got it from ebay (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/WatchGecko) for a tenner
It was the only place I found with orange and brushed hardware. To be honest i've been contemplating chopping the other bit off. I'm finding it's not that comfortable.

Suspect you're right. It's a distinctive, instant classic of a design, it's (presumably) one of the last Tudor models that adheres to their historical use of ETA movements, and it's only been available for three years, which is a flash in the pan.
The new model, while desirable in its own right for the new movement and the blue colouring, will only ever be a later model of a classic.
The ETA model also has the advantage that any independent watchmaker can service it, the new one will have to go back to Tudex, with the attendant cost.

Thank you :)
I'm currently running a simple NATO strap and it's comfortable, but I got the flat version and it sort of bothers me. I wish to get the round version and the 5 ring looks so much better.

Panerai is often compared with Rolex. The two brands have many similarities, with rather simple products, faithful to their original models, a design that never changes, very clear collections and a very powerful club of passionate fans around the world – in Panerai’s case called the Paneristis.
in yer faces rolex snobs!

Move quickly if you're serious about this. Rumours that Tudor are recalling old stock of the Pelagos before the new one appears.

A poster on the TZ forums says he was told this at an AD. It's occurred to me since that some salespersons wouldn't be beyond making something like this up if they thought it'd net them a sale... Maybe worth confirming it first.
On my own trip to an AD, I was told that the new Pelagos (as well as the North Flag) should be available at the beginning of August.

I should get my GMT in the next couple of weeks, looking forward to that.

What's the difference between the two pelagos?
-
• #16798
In-house vs ETA movement I think, from reading the last few posts here.

Thank you too. I pass them about twice a week and wonder if they're reputable. So that's great to know.

As Dammit says in-house movement v ETA chrono but also the layout of the dial. The original has 2 neat subtle lines of text while the new one has 5 lines of text that really crowd the face due to not having been set with much thought. When you look at the two side by side it's quite a difference.
You know I've a funny feeling the original Tudor Pelagos is going to become a major classic in years to come. It has all the right ingredients for it. The new one is a step back, what with all the text on the face etc. Am seriously considering getting one of the originals as a keeper to put in the safe.
