Am super super gutted for Big Tone

Nairobi Quintana is African I believe. Hence the name.

TM still did interviews attended the yellow jersey ceremony and was pottering around behind the scenes before he went to hospital for his broken bones
hardman

Martin changed into the "podium" yellow jersey for the ceremony at the end, with his broken collarbone an all. Sod that.
-
• #1056
Yer can't believe they made him change into it
-
• #1057
Exactly. I'd have had em drape it over the gurney as they slid me oh so cautiously into an ambulance.
-
• #1058
That's nothing. When I broke mine I went home and watched the final of the Great British Bake-off before going to hospital. Priorities.

^^Presumably he wanted to enjoy it as he knew was the end of his tour?
And because he's a nice man going to congratulate Stybar. And because he's hard. -

Word is Cav is under pressure to deliver for next years contract talks hence his jumping earlier than he would like.
-
• #1061
Also he is still the yellow jersey holder until he fails to sign on this morning (which he might just do anyway) or when he fails to start and so abandons.
-
• #1062
The official Tour app is not showing him as having withdrawn yet.
-
• #1063
so all that means is no one will be riding in yellow today
-
• #1064
Interesting analysis of cav by Robbie McEwan the other day - seems to think he has lost some muscle mass.
-
• #1065
Any possibilities he peaked too early?
-
• #1066
They were saying that on the British champs commentary as well.
RE: yellow jersey. Someone on ITV was saying Froome wouldn't wear it today out of respect if Tone didn't sign on.

Absolutely gutted for the Panzerwagen - the shots of him being helped over the line by his team mates were a kick in the nuts.
Does anybody know if the fan park by Canary Wharf will be returning this year? I quite enjoyed watching the final stage there last year.
-
• #1068
Yea, I like him too but not all is lost. He can still go back singing with Franz Ferdinand
-
• #1069
The place where the fan park was last year is currently a massive building site. They're turning it into a load of new skyscrapers that are going to completely block my office view of the river. Very upsetting.

• #1070
seems to have taken Luke Rowe with him as muscle
Gez would have been the better choice for that.
-
• #1071
Well that sucks.
Froome has tweeted he won't be in yellow today.
-
• #1072
I have some vague memory of him wearing polka dots once.
If I'm wrong, Daryl Impey wore yellow before Froome in 2013.
-
• #1073
Is that out of respect for TM or TDF rules?
-
• #1074
DNS Henderson. Guess his ribs finally got the better of him, sadly

Unsure, the cyclingnews article suggests that sponsorship requirements might have obligated Froome to wear yellow, but the commissioners and directors have agreed he doesn't have to.

He won a stage but never wore yellow, polka dot or green (or white) did he?
