Rapha, nice but a bit pricey?

I have a last season brand new with tags high-vis pink gilet in small which is slightly too big now that I am between S and XS .. anyone want to trade with XS?

In other news; Brevet jersey can hold 4 beer bottles including other shit (phone etc.)

I've got the GT gloves. Love 'em. Really comfortable, and very durable. A bit smelly now, but its a price worth paying. I don't find them too warm in the summer.

Pro team thermal bibs

how do last seasons pro team jerseys fit compared with this seasons?

@amey - I picked up some santini bibs which were fine riding to Spain so unless theirs a super deal I don't think I'm getting another pair of Rapha bibs.

Plus I think my riding style is more the Classics range than pro-team :)

I'm a big fan of the GT gloves too. Just don't wear the white ones on a long, hot day in the mountains.

The sizing is variable, so if you can try before you buy or order two sizes and return one.

I did the Etape wearing them in 2009. They were pristine before the start, but the sweat and black bar tape combo meant the palms were heavily stained and there was no way of getting it out (even tried leather shampoo). I still use them though.

Mine have turned a yellow/pink/beige colour from sweat

I have a brand new pair of white ones for a day when I really need to tart it up.

Have a look at Giro LX's for nice and not so pricey

My Giro fell apart while I rode the Rapha into the ground.

Now I have learned. Using this does them a world of good.

Mine started to disintegrate after 3 weeks, I have had Rapha ones for years. Also the giro ones have synthetic bits which became very stinky very quickly.

Until when in the year do you wear the Pro Team Thermal bibs?

When it's cold I wear PX thermal tights over my bibs. I'm just curious as to when you'd use a short legged thermal bib?

I personally never go full length .. at least I haven't in last couple of years and if I do I just wear unpadded DHB winter tights over.

-5° till 5° thermal with leg warmers
5-12° thermal bib sometimes with kneewarmers

Hmmm... Sounds a bit niche so I think that settles it.

I'll just stick with my cross ¾ bibs + PX thermal tights until it's warm enough to wear regular bibs. If thermal bibs come up in the summer sale maybe then.

Going to pull the trigger on the gloves though and make sure that I don't loose one of them like the last two sets.

@hugo7 - the GT gloves do stretch, so go for a very snug fit initially. If you've tried in the shop I'd suggest going for the size you can just get on rather than the size that feels 'just right' when new. Well worth getting some leather balm as well - give them a quick rub over at the end of autumn and they'll still be buttery soft when you get them out next spring.
