They do have issues, mainly they need decent suspension set up for the weight of you, your pillion and the gear does help. The engine is sweet good for miles if looked after.
I'd rather get something that was already set up for touring (included paniers etc) and the Multistrada seat height is a bit much if i'm also going to be using it around town etc.
Wow my multistrada must be unique coming with panniers ;) The bikes can be lowered easily and seats remodelled. Get ones with the lightweight wheels, amazing handling difference and an s with the ohlins suspension. Belts on the 1000 and 1100 are easily done.
