This forum was created to avoid questions about hybrids.
Hope that helps.

Genesis Borough.
Get a singlespeed anyway.

I acknowledge that this is a single speed forum however I have read many posts about other types of bikes. I know some members own more than one type of bicycle.
The Genesis looks good but a little bit over my budget. Worth the splurge?

Yes, then get a single speed bike and put rack/mudguard on it.
On one pompino for one.

If it's an everyday runaround (which it is), I recommend a singlespeed for simplicity of maintenance. On One Pompino, like what Ed said. Or if you want disc then Pompetamine. I think full builds are around £500.
After several years of daily commuting my hybrid has cracked it's frame. I'm looking for a suitable replacement around the £500 mark.
Daily commute is on city roads and side streets. Not massive distances but needs to be quick enough to compete with the road traffic and manage the odd pothole.
I am not fussy on brand as long as it doesn't fall apart within the first few months.
Something light'ish with disc brakes and decent tyres would be nice. Needs to suit someone over 6'4".
Any tips or recommendations?
These are the models I am looking at so far.
