  • Only about twice as bad as 5pm on a normal day. Some of the roads were chocca this evening but it was still a nice enough ride

  • My ride home was remarkably free of traffic, clearer than usual in fact.

  • I got a hole in my smug trousers after getting a second puncture of the day and having to push my bike the rest of the way home.

The part I did cycle (the busiest part as that's how sod's law works) was far busier than normal but everyone was actually being more courteous which was nice.

  • Bring forth the stryclists.

  • I need to get to Waterloo, should be fun.

  • Bring forth the stryclists.

    Gah. Send them back underground!!!!

  • One fellow almost got twatted by a bus just by the Old Vic. Went haring off at the wrong green light towards the Cut straight into the line of traffic coming side on. 8-9 other started following then realised their grave grave error.

  • Saw two near misses on my way in, both due to people trying to turn in to/across the car park that was Essex road. Used my bell with abandon on Torrington place due to peds just casually strolling in to the road. Lovely day for a strike though, felt all the smugs passing all the cars.

  • Think its natural selection day, to day for peds must look at map on phone must not look where I'm going.

  • also: +1 the strikers. fuck TfL, illiberal cunts.

  • +1

  • This image seems suitably apocalyptic, where is it from?

  • Nice morning for it too.

Given the unusually low cycle storage occupation at work this morning I suspect most people have taken the opportunity to 'work from home' whether they get the tube or not.

  • Lord of the Rings, isn't it? No idea which one though.

  • I thought it was an actual photo of Kings Cross

  • Maybe this evening, the lighting's wrong...

  • Thought it was London Bridge

  • Shop in a branch of Upper Crust and the resemblance is complete.

  • The second one - Two Towers. That's the battle at Helm's Deep.

  • "Oh, the tube's not running. I know, I'll drive to work at my Central London job, nobody will have thought of that." Morons.

Ban single occupancy cars within the North/South Circular boundary.

  • I ran in (as I do quite often on a Thursday). Didn't want to run but given the alternative was the train (which would be rammed way more than normal) it wasn't that hard a choice.

Saw quite a few people trying to get into Putney Bridge tube station blissfully unaware that there was a strike on. That's their day off to a good start.

Seemed to be a few more people than normal walking in, which is nice. Many more Boris/Ken/Jenny bikes than normal along Chelsea Embankment/Grosvenor Road/Millbank.

Faaaasands of people crossing Upper Ground (from Waterloo) to cross the river into town.
