So I've caved into the interweb forum pressure in getting some reliable and gripper tyres

Pretty sure everyone rinced you for the half link chain not the tyres ;)

Half link is pants and the mechanic put it the wrong way round too! (just means it will wear quicker, which in my perspective isn't a bad idea to replace it ASAFP)
