With ABS right?
-
• #878
No difference.
-
• #879
Don't think so - problem in situations like today is lack of grip from the tyres.
-
• #880
Massive headwind counts against cav, right?
-
• #881
Why? Show your workings.
-
• #882
Why? He's pushing a lot less air than Greipel and Sagan.
-
• #883
Thought it would favour those with a higher pure power output. Based on not a lot, admittedly.

Cav's sprint form is ridiculously aerodynamic - something like 70-90% of the effort involved in propelling you on the flat is to do with pushing the air out of the way.
My experience with sprinting is that smaller people always do better in a sprint into a headwind than big people (like me). -

It favours those who get their timing right as much as anything. If Etixx get the lead out right then he has a good chance.
-
• #886
Speaking of which, Etixx seemed to have cocked this up a bit
-
• #887
Yep. Total cock up.
-
• #888
How long before the line did his train lose him? 600m? Oh dear.
-
• #889
Greipel the strongest and best timing. Sagan's speed is incredible, sadly too late
-
• #891
Sagan had quite a turn of pace eh?
-
• #892
dis his train lose him, or the other way around? debatable.
-
• #893
decent late surge
-
• #894
Cavendish will not win a stage in this race.
-
• #895
Greipel just looks too good so far, regardless of any train.
-
• #896
That's a bold prediction.
-
• #897
He looked latched on to Greipel's wheel, then Sagan pushed him off it. He then proceeded to go far too early into the headwind, whereas Greipel didn't come out of cover till ~100m before the line, Sagan even later (too late).

Etixxx train needs a bit of work it seems.
-
• #899
Seems a bit with Cav that he's a bit nervous - not confident enough to jump on someone like Greipel's wheel and come round at the end. He's trying to use his jump to win the sprint before it even really starts.
Though to be fair to him, he had to come a from a long way back and had to come right out and around Kristoff, who sprinted like a total whopper.
Edit: wasn't Kristoff - it was whoever FDJ's sprinter is.

Etixxx train needs a bit of work it seems.
They've been saying that for two years.
Would disc brakes have helped or made things worse there?
Genuine question.
