I saw a woman of Afro-Caribbean descent running a red light the other day.
Imagine how that made me feel.

if some cunt in a car gives me grief because of what you or anyone else does whilst riding a bike, i'm taking it up with the cunt in the car who feels it appropriate to indulge in collective punishment. no one else. there is no 'us'.

+1 to the guy who called out a RLJer this morning who went through a pedestrian crossing as a primary school group was about to cross.
-10 for then riding though a gap in said group after the lights changed whilst they were still crossing.
-50 for arguing with the teachers when they complained.
Also -50 to the two other cyclists who followed him and had a shouty match with the teachers whilst I did a wobbly trackstand in the middle of the junction waiting 10 seconds for it all to pass before continuing to the office. -

What is going on with the cycle lanes completely covered in broken glass in several section of the eastbound Camberwell Road? (Before and after Camberwell Green) Loads of people gonna get punctured, already seen several on pavements wondering why their tyres is flats in the first places.
Rode through these riding two abreast last night, was wierd... looked very like sabotage to me... three patches of liberally sprinkled glass in quick succession.

Hello Maggie.

Came in on little motorbike today, is it wrong of me to be very concerned at the wobbly unsteadyness of the young girl in dungaree's riding an immaculate brakless fiexe (correct forum spelling?) riding up East Indjiah Dock Road this morning. The protective father in me wanted to say "Look, you and the bike are cool, but please fit a front brake to avoid possible smashage and broken bones as your riding skills don't seem to match the requirements of your vehicle choice".
Odd feeling.

Any more details about Sonny's? My friend at work is pretty distraught about the project of losing his favourite local "scummy takeaway place".

Filtering at speed as I was late for the train, going to the right of a lorry which unknowst to me was letting a car out of a side road to turn right, so poured on the brakes and just managed to avoid ploughing into the side of it. Sort of my fault but the lorry obscured the side road so I had no idea the car was there.
Also had a go at a Papa John's moped rider last, which under took me just ahead of some red lights. I was in primary as the road curves around to the right ninety degrees (two lane, one way) and I was overtaking a cyclist who was turning left. Suddenly there a moped zooming up on my inside despite the fact the red light is ten yards away. At the red lighgI asked him if he thought it was a good idea, given the light was red, and he in turn stoically stared straight ahead until the light turned green when he turned around and said something muffled, probably something rude.

Rode in feeling smug at avoiding what is sure to be transport meltdown later on today as people have to do outlandish things like walk and use buses. Got a puncture, felt less smug.

No not at the moment, unfortunately it was in pretty rough shape as I passed it this morning. LBC are starting to report it on traffic news now but no details as of yet.

So are 'we' responsible to the actions of all other cyclists or not, I'm confused ?

Massive dick on/off pavement between traffic weaver going up Tower Bridge Rd, it wasn't even jumping the lights, it was his scatty turns.
Super windy over the bridge from E1 to SE17 on way back, tucked in behind a taxi who didn't seem to mind.

We aren't but car drivers seem to think we are.
I've lost count of the number of times I've had to listen to tales of red-light jumping, no lights, no looking behind them cyclists because I happen to mention I'm a cyclist. My favourite being when someone complains to me that "none of you cyclists have any lights" whilst I'm there with a bike that's lit up like a christmas tree.

'Your all the same just going through Red lights' While stopped at a red light is my fav.
-
• #7247
And yet I find "you're all the same, killing innocent road users and getting away with it" tends to irk.

• #7248
Sorry about that. Was in a rush.

I think we do a fairly good job of stereotyping/collectively blaming Addison Lee drivers and white van men.

Doubles all round? (hopeful)
