Keep on covers are amazing, but then I do commute in mine. I'd buy them in a heartbeat.
-
• #528
Amazing, you say...hmmm. As they're cheaper than the two, the walkable's are essentially doing the same job as keep-ons and cleats, no? forgetting the aero bumpfh and the hockey puck styling.

I only use my speedplays on the nice road bike and track bike, very minimal walking but even so the Keep on Kovers are worth it.
-
• #530
I found that as they got worn and soft they would mess up the cleat engagement with the pedals
-

I was the last person to foot down and still beat you up to the top and you lot were all running compacts.

Only because we stopped to help James with his deflation issue.

You lot were miles down the road and it was only Em that hadn't touched down. When I saw him stopped on some fencing it was fair game. As I said, still faster than you lot, even with a couple of beers and some sunbathing half way up.

I stopped and had some lunch halfway up when I found a picnic chair left on a hairpin.

Anyway, my right hand speedplay cleat broke yesterday- same cleat I have been riding since Zoncolan.
-

I had proper pedals back then. I've still managed to break 3 or so Speedplay cleats since.

Kilometres down the road, thanks. Do U even Euro, bro?

The aeros do actually look quite good. Are there prices yet?

Those ^ are a little bit cheaper here as i was having mooch yesterday. Thought I might just give them a go as they seem to be doing the same job as the keep-ons and you can take them off (if they don't fall off first) if they interfere with engagement after a while.
Before all that, turns out I have to sort out a needle bearing replacement with fingers crossed the spindle hasn't been damaged.

How are these different? Is it just because the pedals aren't out yet?

I guess so. Impressed how cleanly the one sided pedal integrates with the cleat.
-
• #545
I didn't link that for price, just for reference - quentioning if they were available/the same thing.

Im gonna order a set, £40 quid seems not bad for new cleat and cover when you take into account how much the clip on covers are.
-
• #547
The weightweenies review makes me think that they're not the most robust of cleat covers
. -
• #548
Agreed, what's the cheapest/best source for these? I am in the market currently

This thread put me off the walkable cleats: http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=131866

"Aero covers are supposed to be more aero but I didn't really feel it."
Yeah, uh, no shit. Reviewer DTM
nice one, cheers.
as the pedals were cheap it gave the option of spending a little more on the cleats/covers if worth it, but sounds like standard and covers is as a good a start as any.
