I am almost happy with my allrounder Empella Bonfire that I bought from here. Only things that still need some attention are new cables and some wider tyres. Cassette could need a replacement too but no moneyz atm so it will have to do.
I'm still not quite settled with the setup in regards to stem length etc. I changed the stem from 70mm to 90mm and it's def better but I think I might try a longer one. I know the frame is a bit small but it was such a bargain that I had to get it, and besides I think its just about in the limits for me.
More pics behind the link.

How much do you lot reckon a VGC 105-5500 group (yellow logo) would sell for on here?

Been riding around the new partsbin singlespeed commute for a couple weeks and finally had my camera with me whilist on the bike. (On my way home from an arvo of drinking beer whilist waiting for le tour to pass by, happy times, so excuse the pics.)
Needs less chain slack I see now, some kind of shorter and more level stem and defo a rack. Really need a nice looking slim rack, if anybody has a cheap solution, welcome to take.
that clearance tho, both the 25 and the 32 in the back are tight
edit: its this frame btw

Ah 650C
You know I spotted one on ebay recently...but trickier yes for sure.
(As you can be Scobled...have I been Testered?)

It works suprisingly well but I guess I should change it to a spacer hanger. Thanks for the offer but I'm in Finland so postage could be a bit expensive, and I actually think I might have one lying around somewhere :)

Where is it really easy to find 650C 1" forks?
Saw some in here recently, don't believe they're sold.
What is being scobled?

Awesome looking frame.
Are the original forks 700c? Maybe photo angles but bb looks like it could be a tad low?

Are the original forks 700c?
Probably, if the builder's intention was to make it look like this:
BB drop and angles look fine with 650, maybe you need to go to specsavers?

^^^ thanks
^ But tbf there are some frames which don't look that bad by changing the fork from 650c to 700c, namely some Rychtarski ones.
Is it worse to go from 24" to 650c than 650c to 700c geometry wise or the same?

Without the appropriate diagrams to back up your theory, I'm content to disregard it.

For the last few days I've been working on my faknago. I got quite attached to it after 2 weeks of touring and I decided to give it a makeover. I also had a go at trying to work out what it was originally. It has Zeus dropouts, british bb, serial no. JA1626 and a 27.0mm seatpost. I didn't find anything solid but from what I've read/seen, I think it might be a Jacques Anquetil made possible by MKM. It would explain the serial number and I know that MKM used Zeus dropouts. Anyway, it started like this:
I decided to remove the decals (farewell Faknago) and began to sand off the rust. My aim was to come out with something similar to Rik Van Looy's Bob Rat. I got rid of the worst of the rust and then gave it a few layers of spray can clear coat. Don't know how well it will hold up but if worst comes to worst I can always repeat again. I cleaned up all the parts (they were filthy, a winters worth of road dirt) and then put it all back together. This is the result:
I really love the look of it! Real fun and nippy to ride. Going to leave the mudguards off for now while we have the nice weather. Future plans are to get a matching wheelset (or a more match front wheel) and to try out a riser + basket/rack set up.
