  • Any weight limit for 23mm Schwalbe Ones?
mespilus jr. got a pnctr on the way home from the Hillingdon track.
Almost inevitable, given the seldom swept inner yard ofHillingdon roads.
He had packed his cycling rucksack, but omitted an inner tube, so, as we were only about 1.5 miles from home, I told him to phone Mrs. mespilus and let her know we would be back a little later than expected. We walked home.
We get home mrs mespilus, (who has never ridden a bike in her life), has a hissy fit, complaining I should have collected him by car. The 6 or so mile journey is 45 minutes quicker by bike than car, on a Saturday lunchtime, so thats not happening again.
We, (I), have spare inner tubes at home in stock from a bulk buy from ITS.
Saturday pm passes with no-one even looking at his bike, as does Sunday.
Monday evening, I can the sounds of engineering incompetence from the garden. A combination of the mrs & jr. and the cheap Aldi/Lidl bike stand are not getting the newly shod rear wheel into the frame.
I show how the brake calipers can be released, to allow the new Durano Plus tyres in.
jr. rides up & down the road a bit to ensure the brake blocks are still aligned and the gears can be smoothly accessed.
The previous Schwalbe Ones are just left in the garden! Barely used, 6 Saturday morning sessions at the Hillingdon track and no more than another 100 road miles.
So, not yet down to my target weight, (but down from 15 1/2 stone to 14 in 10 months), so 89 kgs OK for 23mm Schwalbe Ones?
