  • If you decide to lose the ringlé cages give me a shout.

  • Few updates to my hipster 29er, took it for a spin tonight, felt super rad. Going for flat pedals soon.

Straight blade road forks, 1 1/8 ", carbon, clearance for 25mm, must not look stupid with external headset. Does it exist? Have searched on here and googled, columbus minimal turned up but has curved blades which I would like to avoid.

  • Bling bling!!! Loving this! Got to start pimping my all city soon ;)

  • This little kit will help me cabling as the previous owner left cable guides only on the bb area and chainstay

  • #Donut

Blue is other Mondrian colour.. 😀

    BEATER @HoKe, IT'S A FUCKING BEATER!

  • Its not worth it, he doesn't understand.

  • never ridden fixed before but this was local and going cheap (i think!) so the ebay trigger finger got itchy...

Custom made for the guy I bought it from in Reynolds 731 OS Race with lovely wishbone stay. Front wheel is Mavic 520 hub/650 Wolber Profil 20with bladed radial spokes, rear is Record hub to Mavic GEL 280 (lacking one lock ring I think), Stronglight hs, Cinelli stem, steel bars, SR Royal cranks, also came with a Juna disc wheel but with some damage around the valve hole. Have no real need for it and unlikely it will get much use unless I can get the other fork that it originally came with that was drilled for a brake (seller is going to try to dig it out of his loft fingers crossed...). I'll start a thread if I decide to do much with it...

  • That's very nice, and the fork looks like it has a road rake, so it will be easy to find another one cheapz (or Crabon if you must) if owner can't find it. Alternatively a Dia Compe clamp-on front works too.

I would advice against tubulars in wet weather/other p_nctr happy conditions, unless you don't mind using foam to fill holes. I've cycled them and on glass filled roads you will get flats...at the worst time, of course, as you do :)

  • Thanks. Yes would be good to get it going with a brake, really hope he can find the fork and will look into the clamp on brake option. Never run tubs before and am not very keen!

  • If the rake is 35 or so, it will be easy to find a used fork many road frames have a rake like so.
May be cheaper than clamp on brake which is going to set you back £60-80 unless you get lucky on used.

Tubs are great in a way, I like them, but mounting/fixing is a hassle, I've fixed and stitched on myself, but the mounting is bloody hard. (gluing is fun though, remember school arts and craft?)

    Cracking little frame though!

EDIT: I recall a fillet brazed Omega ex Danish female track cyclist on the bay from ages ago...very little info on them alas. Fillet brazing isn't easy to get nice either.

  • good to know thanks. yes tubs sound like a nightmare, these ones are ok and holding air so will keep as is for now until I can figure out what I can do about a brake. Funny enough I already had this ones road bike sibling which i guess added to me wanting this if it went cheap...

  • It's all about the SSCX this year.... With the option to go geared :-)

  • Chances are little I will sell them because I am looking to buy a mid nineties mountainbike. But if I sell, I will keep you in mind.

  • Haha, looks like I got into 90s mtb stuff a little late. As usual :)

  • I want to convert a bike from having dt shifters (7 speed suntour) to thumbies. I have one of those shifter mounts for the right (which I am hoping the current dt shifter will fit on) and have ordered a cheapo friction for the left.

I have just realised that I will need some cable stops. I know there are Campag ones and Shimano ones, but what does that actually relate to? And can I just get away with using any that have a barrel adjuster? In which case is there any reason not to use the cheapest I can find?

    Cheers.

  • took @Rodolfo 's advice and installed a longer seatpost that goes far enough below the toptube not to risk the extension snapping, also, ditched the clips and straps for trusty old ATACs

Amazeballs. You must be a monster of man.

  • Is it possible to fit an Ultra 6500 9 speed cassette on the 105 5500 hubs. It says it takes both 8 and 9 speed but is that only the 105 variety? #noob

  • Any with cable adjuster will work.

  • In fact, everyone just relax.
