What? How long ago was it you bought your home? That does seem really good. If you don't mind me asking, what was your deposit? Like % wise...? My initial research suggest 25%+ allows a good deal...

The end of my original two year fixed deal was coming up soon so I'd been planning to call my IFA. Didn't need to cos he phoned yesterday with an offer of 2 year fixed with the Halifax (same as current) at 1.69% with no fee, and as a bonus that'll start 1st August so I'm on the lower rate two months early. #cashback
I get that a no-fee IFA will have their interests in mind as well as the clients, but this bloke was invaluable in me getting the offer accepted on my place (which lenders get surveys organised quickest) and I'd thoroughly recommend talking to him.

If I had been paying mine on a timed basis, it would have fucking bankrupted me. Not costed me a penny but has been invaluable.

£14,000 deposit so 15% of price.
You may guess that I don't live in London's famously fucking expensive, London.

Still pretty good though, have been looking at commutable areas and even though are expensive... I just don't want to over up my job as although the students can be annoying at times, it's a good job and that...

What's the deal with changing jobs when in the process of buying somewhere? We haven't completed yet and I've been offered an interview somewhere.
-
• #9633
Just don't tell em.
That's what I did. -
• #9634
Ha! I think the official line is "don't change job until you've completed". Its hard to tell which will happen first at this point though.

Too late. Nice colours however...

That blue bath...
Looks like a great base to start from though, hopefully you won't have too much to do aside from the redecorating.

The bathroom is amaze. Get a loo to match (just google coloured suites), fresh tiles (maybe lemon yellow) and in 3 years when everyone is doing it you can say you were there first.
That kitchen is already back in, the bathroom will follow. Truth.

Yeah, it sort of is. With the red artex it's very retro 70's.
Unfortunately the carcasses are shot and I need more storage for all the kitchen kit I own.
And the cooker is a 80's stand alone unit which is probably on its last legs.

Electrics need updating to modern regs and I'd like a CAT6 wiring system throughout the house.
Lucky I'm a sparks eh?

Fucking hell... How hard is it for people to look passed appearances... Ffs
I need a short term lease or something to tide me over til I get this damn house. Can I even?
"hi can I see your room. I'm looking for a short lease while I sort out a mortgage. "
" Sure! come on over!"
" I'm here! "
" yeah... About that room... I have other viewings... I'll let you know "

Have you tried wearing a shirt with sleeves?
^This.
They got a better deal than I could find in the time.
Happy with £400 a month for a 2 bed terrace.
