A few years ago Chris Horner rode the final 20 kms of a stage with concussion, had no memory of it afterwards.
It's hard for the team and organisation medical staff to assess someone properly in the melee of the race though.

Absolute carnage. The gratuitous road rash shots are making me feel uncomfortable

The issue today is that the rules being applied are being made up as they go along. Hence the confusion.

If it's a safety issue, then they were applied correctly. Sky, Movistar, and whoever else it was having a fit at the front can suck it.

I have a vague memory of an (English speaking?) rider just talking confused nonsense at the end of a stage. Him?

That crash was horrible

Yeah this. Typical riders - moan about safety when it suits, but bitch about it when it gets in the way of their race.

I didn't notice the lamp post at first. That was nasty.

Some teams are going to have almost nothing left for the TTT.

Cancellara is not looking in a good way.

From the official website:
The côte de Bohisseau is neutralized. The riders are moving again but a new start proper will be given at the top of the hill with 50km to go.

Anyone recommend a good site for just text updates. ITV4 and Eurosport both ban here at work.

They've done well to close that quickly.
weird how no one seems to be tending to him? people with concussions should be kept from doing stupid things. these guys are so fit that they could probably 'hide' the effects of a concussion pretty well.
