Excellent bargain and I can attest these frames superbly.

56 square? Head tube and TT make it look a touch smaller?
-
• #4
I need to pick it up from work and check measurements, should be able to do this tomorrow..
-
• #5
Sorry for delay getting measurements across,
Seattube 55 ctc
Seattube 56 ctt
Toptube 56 ctc
Reach 41 - ( taken centre bb to centre of head tube ) as accurate as I can, but hard to get this one spot on.. should be an indication the reach is fairly long, as supported by the 56tt ctc measurement.. -

If you split, could be interested in the gruppo.

Hi Siggy, would prefer not to split, but will let you know if I change my mind,
Still haven't had time to take decent ( camera phone ) pictures, but here's one in the light this morning, ooo arty,

Took a closer pic of the bike so you can see it in more detail,
So the full history is I am the second owner, first owner took it up Ventoux and said it was only a minute and a half slower than on his Colnago C40..
Having used it as a training bike for the last two years I can believe that, last year I was lapping Regents Park on it at pretty much the same speed as my carbon bike.
The handling is excellent, it's really stiff, with chunky chain stays for great power transfer. The tires are in good condition, Continental gp4000 on the back and gatorskin on the front, I've swapped the back break pads recently, the front will need to be swapped in a month or two and I'm happy to include new ones with the sale.

Really tempted by this, but I think the reach might be a touch too big. I currently ride a 56cm Merckx Strada OS, with almost identical geometry, and that was giving me neck pain until I replaced the stem with something higher and shorter. Would it be worth me giving it a test run anyway?
-
• #12
Any idea the weight?
-
• #13
Hi mate, I run a long stem on it. You're welcome to have a go and get a feel for how it rides, I think you'd be able to appreciate the ride quality but it sounds you may have to swap the current stem out for something smaller..

Sorry I'm afraid I don't hath bathroom scales so I cant jump on them with the bike and then subtract myself!
It's definitely light for a steel bike but I can't give you an exact weight :-( -

Have a bump from a fellow Donohue owner :)

• #16
That last pic is in Warwick Gardens?
-
• #17
Thanks @JWestland @Gabeuk yes it is indeed, on a rather hot day!
-
• #18
Nice looking bike- sold yet?
-
• #19
still here,
-
• #20
If that's a Mizuno full carbon fork then the weight of the bike isn't going to be far off a top end aluminium Cannondale. I've seen one of those Donohue built 853 frames come in at 1400gr.

Absolute barginz&drimzdreamz.
Would grab it if it were larger!
-

He also built briefly for Cougar, and their 853 frames are lovely - much more plush and lighter than a contemporary Genesis. My pal paid £250 for a Donohue frame and forks and considered that a good price.
This is a stone cold bargain.

Hi, is this still available?
I'm super keen to make it mine, but would like a test ride first, as I'm not 100% sure of my sizing. I currently ride a fixed Peugeot conversion, which I think is pretty similar dimensions, but this would be my first road bike, so would like to take it for a quick spin before committing.
I'm south east based, and often up in farringdon for work, so could potentially do any of the three meet-up spots you mention, at a mutually convenient time. PM me if your interested!

Awful nice.
Awful cheap.
Didn't there used to be a festival/party in Warwick Gardens at this time of year? Does that still happen? -
