In that case, go for 25mm GP4000s if you want to go fast.

Going fast on my bike.
Start with latex tubes rather than 'lightweight'.
Not tubs, so I can patch and continue if necessary.

...any 'puncture protection' layer just unnecessarily adding rolling resistance and weight?
If zero fcuks given to punctures then just Vittoria Open Corsa (EVO CX or whatever) or Veloflex (if you're not too bothered about them being round, but are bothered about them being sexy/Italian).
