inherent flexibility
Lateral or vertical?

Just imagine the most awesome bike ever, and it's that.
-
• #5
We've not made one to this specification - hence no picture of the whole thing.
You can see elements of the design in the other bikes on the Facebook page - for example the seat stays will be very similar to the green/purple TT bike.

Is there any flexibility in spec? And will it affect price at all? i.e. TIG vs Fillet ..
-
• #7
Yep, things are flexible, price would change depending on the modification to the offer-specification.

approx weight of 56cm frame?

Don't start.

I'll get back to you on that one, will need some quality time with the calculator.

How much for one with space for 25c tyres, sram wireless read (no braze on's), replaceable derailleur hanger, internal rear brake cable and caliper brakes?
-
• #13
Are these with the Serotta seat-tubes, or ones swaged in a similar way?

Just discussing with Matt on the cost side of things, the internal brake routing is time-intensive.
The breezer dropout has a replaceable hanger:

Hi chaps,
Just to give a bit more background to this. We have been setting ourselves up to start batch production, developing processes and bringing on a new (a very skilled) builder on to Talbot Towers. This is our second run on the batch production line, and as LFGSS has been very good to us, we thought we'd offer it up to the forum.
The £1200 is the base price, we can add small changes to builds, for example internal brake routing would be an extra £50. (that would be fully internal, so running inside both the down tube and the chainstay). Taking things off (e.g.wireless ready) wouldn't cost anything extra obvs.
Weights will be around 1.8kg painted for a 55cm square frame, slightly less for smaller, slightly more for bigger (obvs lol).
Attached is a demo drawing for the 55cm model.
Also attached is an example of the brake bosses for discs, and the internal routing in the chainstays.

Seems like a great plan!
I am keen for something like this: A fixed/SS disc frame with rocker dropouts built to match chainline of road cranks (already have P2M and will stay crank based in future). Hylix carbon forks with 367mm A to C.What would such thing cost?
-
• #21
Very tidy. I'll butt out of your thread now.
-
• #22
Sounds like a great frame set. I don't need, and can't justify this year, but still want. Good luck with the new production process ideas.

With regards to caliper brakes - this will be the rear end:
Therefore a caliper brake is not available, however we could use a direct mount brake underneath/behind the BB.
-
• #24
Or use the more traditional wishbone if q caliper brake is required.

150mm headtube....
Special limited edition run of Talbot Four Seasons Race bike, order now for Autumn deliver.
This is designed to be used year round, whatever the Great British climate can throw at you - even the "wrong kind of leaves" will not phase this thoroughbred.
Frame:
Reynolds 853 OS downtube
Reynolds 853 swaged seat tube (larger diameter where it meets the BB shell for greater stiffness where it's needed)
Columbus MAX bi-axially ovalised top tube
Paragon Machine Works 44mm head tube, allowing either a tapered steerer or a straight steerer fork to be used
Columbus Zona S-bend chain stays
Talbot Frameworks T45 "croquet hoop" seat stays
Custom geometry
Designed for 28c tyres and mudguards
Breezer dropouts
Talbot disc-caliper mount inside the rear triangle
Cable-stops or internal Di2
BSA BB Shell
Fillet brazed
Single colour paint (we'll paint the fork the same colour if you buy it from us)
This is designed to be a bike that can make endless hours of winter zone-2 a pleasure, whilst being sharp enough to race through the summer.
Disc brakes, mudguards and scope for large tyres give this bike an inherent flexibility which is hard to beat.
This will be a limited run of 5 bikes, each numbered (rumours that the final bike will "be alive" are unsubstantiated), and will feature the new stainless Talbot logo brazed onto the head tube.
Total cost for the frame, painted a single colour, will be £1,200 - if you buy the fork from us we'll paint it the same colour.
A deposit of £600 is required to secure a slot in the build queue.
