I think I would've needed to practise a bit first. And much, much more presence of mind than I actually had. It was more of a sweaty death pedal trying not to back pedal down the ramp, followed by a rather dicey turn at the bottom with the front wheel gently sliding away from me (thankfully no pedal strike), followed by some deep breaths.
Definitely worth avoiding. Having slowed down and started unscrewing the torque tube, I then had the ramp down to the infield (in Aigle you're allowed to ride up and down the ramp unlike in London) which was, ahem, interesting with no means of resisting gravity and its inevitably accelerative effects. Quite a sharp turn at the bottom.
