Took the fan out last night and again this evening, cat was like.. 'wah! this thing is scary...' How can she be so scared of everything and everyone that are not 4 legged?

Spent last hour watching cat find a safe and lay down for about 5 mins before getting up and moving someplace else and repeating the process over and over.

That is a mighty fine pro fan tip! My cats (and the dog) have taken to spreading themselves out on the clay tiled kitchen floor. Coolest place in the house. Might try it myself next time it goes above 30c. I did go and lie out on the lawn in a vest and shorts last night - not many evenings in the year when that doesn't sound totally crazy. My cats thought it was weird, obvs.
Getting a bit worried about the number of frogs they're bringing in from the pond a few doors along - always alive, usually at dusk or after rain. The neighbour's dog actually eats them :/
I don't mind picking up and releasing the slimy, leggy little bastards but as I'm going away soon, for a while, my poor frog-phobic mum will have to deal with them until they hibernate again in Oct/Nov. I dread returning home at Christmas to find an assortment of putrid and/or dried-up dead frogs, mice, slugs, and other once-living 'gifts' under my bed...or worse.
I suspect there will be a lot of shutting outside and mouth-checking going on. :/

I reckon hot weather brings out the princess in most cats at some point (humans too, tbh).
I wouldn't worry too much about her being less interested in food occassionally, as long as she's definitely drinking?
Also, you know you can buy really cheap catnip in Brixton Healthfoods? I was amused to see it in between the jars of camomile and dandelion.

She doesn't like catnip... tries expensive one, free one, cheap one... nah... cat guess she like, which is why I am planting some this wekeend... still time left yet for the summer growth...
Since I started shutting the catflap at night again, I hardly see the cat again... she comes in before I go to bed, and goes out again when I come home from work... it's like we are taking turn guarding the flat...

Maybe get your mum a long arm clip/tog thing, you know what people use to pick up rubbish on the street before you go... this has helped me a lot in overcoming my phobia with my lovely presents my loving cat brings me... now I look at the dead bodies and think they are rather cute... except for the ones with certain body parts.

I'm in extreme cuteness sensitivity mode since it will be about 15 days and then Suzy (born May 22, now still at the farm with mum & siblings) will be part of our lives - yay! We had to say goodbye to our much loved tomcat after 18 years this February, now mourning is over, time for a new friend!

Fridges (tl;dr) They don't just magically make cold.
Ha, next you'll be telling me microwave ovens don't just magically make hot!

2 things I have learnt today:
Never, I mean never plant any cat grass or cat mint or anything that cats like in your garden. My grarden has now turned into kitties disco. And all they have been doing is dig dig and dig... I might as well have just left the seeds in a bowl for them.
My cat really does not like other 4 legged things.

Where did you get one? Could be better than a make-shift device!

If you google long arm grabbers, there are loads with various prices. I don't actually have 1, I just use a tong we bought from the pound shop at the last BBQ... Obvious haven't used it for food since it made contact with a mouse... Chopsticks are also amazingly useful.

Kitty disco you say?

The only way the overcome your fear is to face it. 1st time I found 1, I called a friend and he came all the way from Millbank to pick up and dispose of a mouse for me. 2nd time, I knocked on my neighbours door... Now, I am like... Meh... I just wanna get back to doing whatever I was doing...

Yes a disco for kitties... What have I done now?!!?
Mine from the shady nest under the apple tree. Now out and about as it's cooler.
Don't know about the cat but we are sleeping downstairs tonight as it's 5 oC cooler, may lead to confusion and another savaging in the morning.........
We got the normal dawn wake up call today.
cat wants whiskers, human needs to serve it, so wake humans by walking all over them and fat-pawing them with lots of meows.
I was having none of this and after a hello, good morning, it's 4.30am patting i went back to sleep.
I normally get savaged by cat, Mrs 853 does not, ergo vicious claw fang cat is in my head.
Cat tries to fat-paw Mrs 853 into feeding, something goes wrong............. lots of shouting...... i go back to sleep........ Mrs 853 has a nice 3 claw scratch and mini vampire bite mark on her arm :)
Cute and fluffy don't bite me :) sure made his point this morning.
