Anyone have these with 27-28mm tyres? Tyres will be either schwalbe one tubeless or open paves, still undecided.
-
• #1585
i have the skinnier version of them with 30c Strada Biancas. Wouldn't want to run any larger tyres but it all works fine

^Wide rims? After some gentle persuasion I managed to fit 25mm Pave on 23mm wide rims under the 30mm PDWs...
-
• #1587
no, on open pros, so maybe wide rims might cause some width issues
-
• #1588
Mines are 25mm-ish Stan's Grails so maybe too wide :(

So this happened:
Should I replace with another chromoplastic or is there something better / nicer out there?
-
• #1591
Sorry I'm not answering the question, as I only have experience of Chromoplastics, but how did that happen?
-
• #1592
Collision. Kinda broadsided / rear ended. The rim was in bad shape too, but seems to have trued out ok.

• #1593
Get a CAAD12.

• #1594
is there something better / nicer out there?
PDW Full Metal Fender that actually stop your feet from getting wet.
-
• #1595
Never actually felt that the chromos weren't doing their job to be honest. Need flaps though.
Going to order some PDW anyway for a road biek - will see what they are like.
-
• #1596
I hope you came out better.
-
• #1597
Hah, yeah, well at least none of me needs to go in the bin!
Quality road rash / bruising though. And no MTBing shiz for me this weekend. Bah.
-
• #1598
should i upgrade to PDW's over chromoplastics? does the front one do a better job of keeping feet dry?
they are on special on the site that should not be mentioned right now
-
• #1599
Depends. Do you have the money? Are they a good price? Etc etc

Since I put the SKS extra long flap on my front guard me feet have remained much, much drier. The only issue is my guard now catches on the door sill as I wheel the bike out.
@amey Might need a bit of fettling but I reckon they'll work, worst case is go back down to 23mm tyres... you can try my PDW if you want?
