I guess it depends what you call medium price ?
I would consider Morvelo medium priced, ish. I have about 5 or 6 pairs and I think there great and haven't noticed any real difference to my Rapha shorts.

Seconded on Morvelo - prefer them to the castelli that I own. Just ordered some Nth series ones (definitely not medium priced!) to see how they run.

Yeah the Nth series stuff is great, but even the standard shorts are good and can normally be had for £70 ish, on wiggle. That's of more medium price point isn't ? less than half the price of a pair of rapha shorts.

Just bought a pair of the Endura top ones, which can be had for about 90 quid. The pad is incredible... though that's off the evidence of just one short hill repeat ride so far.
Will report back, but early signs are they're more comfy than: Assos S5, Chapeau green pad, Rapha Classic, Exteondo god-knows-what.

Sportful Gruppetto pro
dhb Professional ASVIf you hunt around you can usually pick up top end Santini bibs on sale somewhere in your price range .

Criminal as it might be to recommend DHB on here, these are excellent for the price point - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-goldline-bib-short/

Cheapo Santini at £40 is are excellent. Ribble.

The 'high end' Decathlon shorts are always nice for the price (especially when on sale, which is pretty often). Mid price quality for bargain bin money.
-
• #11
Second the decathlon stuff, the 900 series winter bibs are excellent, esp when £30
-

Those 520 bibs are good. The lycra is thin but seems tough, compression is nice. The cut, materials and pad are like a £60 pair of bibs... so for the sale price they're a steal.

DHB are pretty great.
That would be my first chioce after Rapha PT. The stuff inbetween hasnt really worked for me.
Morvelo gets loads of good reviews though. I should probably try them at some point.

Of my limited selection the Morvelos are the comfiest by far

That would be my first chioce after Rapha PT.
Which ones in particular?
Will also look at Morvelo.

Just got a Endura pro260 bib shorts, fit suberb, pad very comfortable, quality is shit, 2 holes in em, one on shoulder strap and one on hip, Endura need to keep an eye on this, not the first of their products I've used with production defects. Shan't be buying anymore of their gear.

2 holes in em
Those are for your legs.

Quick thoughts on my Nth series Morvelo bibs.
Good fit, I have stick legs and am a beanpole which can pose problems but the L fit me well (6ft, 66kg).
Thinner chamois than I'm used to, meaning that it did get slightly "noticeable" (not uncomfortable per se) on a 5 hour ride without slapping on chamois cream.
Was annoyed that they were briefly available for about half the price I paid!

Tee hee.

Endura have dreadful quality control. I had a pair of bibs with one whole leg not stitched properly. They did exchange however.
-

Yeh, very poor of late. So much so I'm not buying their stuff anymore. If they were bargain basement I could deal with the odd fault, but paying mid price point I expect at bit more.

I've had good luck with a pair of Condor bibs, I think they're about 60-70.
-

I think £85 qualifies as medium priced. Although you're knocking on Assos sale territory.
They're good. Took me through France and Spain. No complaints. Would recommend. Same pad as the more expensive Race model.
Stylistically the logos on the bottom of the legs are a bit bigger than I expected and the photos convey. The grippers are pretty wide.

For just less than £60 I'm gonna give Spesh Rbx pro power a go.

I just completed London to Paris in 4 days with a pair of super comfy 7.99 bTwin shorts - didn't notice them at all in a negative sense once, and they positively cosseted my omnipresent ''farmers' - photographic evidence is available for a trifling fee.... Highly recommended!
with the vast amount of choice out there..........can anyone advise me on a good pair with an excellent pad for long distance rides?
