Good idea. Yep there are canti bosses and I actually have a old supermarket basket I found in the streets ages ago.
Less elegant but still functional.
I guess small jubilee clips would be the best combo for that?
Or maybe if I could find some ply board use that as a base and screw into plates below?

Hmmmm so all of them are c£60? Seems excessive to spend half the cost of the bike on something that will sit under a basket.
Boss for a light is a bonus rather than a must.
