All grand, as Dan says he came away from what was a pretty big mechanical failure fairly lightly.
I stayed upright but clipped/kicked him in the head/a hard bit on my way past down the track.

Turns out Dura Ace chainring bolts do not play well with Sram Omniums. I've been using that setup for a while without issue, but I guess (in hindsight) that because the spider of the Omniums is so much thicker than the DA ones, they might not engage enough threads to be secure unless you constantly tighten them.
In any case, my drivetrain disintegrated in a points race, I got up to give it some watts and the drivetrain exploded. Top lolz. Be careful mixing stuff up kids.
The annoying thing is that I had been intending to swap my 49t for a 48t all evening, but didn't have time because I was busy mucking about with punctured tubs and borrowed wheels. I would have spotted the bolts coming loose if it wasn't for those pesky tubs.

Sorry to hear about the crash. Everything was going so smoothly when I skipped before the last race due to cr*p legs.
On my omniums, based on advice from someone else I use DA nuts at the back (with a bit of superglue to help the knurling stop them from falling off) and then I bought some stainless steel double bolts and use the male part to screw into the DA backs. Works well, loads of threads to engage. Bought some TA double bolts first, wasn't impressed at the quality and used ID bolts instead.

Keirins tonight? Dammit, it's my wife's birthday, no chance of me racing :(
-
• #244
That was your excuse for not marshalling last night...... :)

If you're judging tonight Dan, can you just check the bolts on the top of the clip board and that your biro is in good shape, before you start writing?
Would hate to see a mid-scribble 'equipment failure' that could take down a fellow judge or Commie.

• #246
Are you suggesting some kind of 'equipment failure' might have been the cause of last years clipboard attack Rob?!
-
• #247
Ha! What ever possessed him, we'll never know.
I don't believe and clipboards failed, or were injured during that unbelievable incident.
Jaime still can't really laugh about that you know......

Apparently she's entitled to extra days for birthday celebrations. I'm not sure how it works because I'm pretty sure I get just the one.

Best not to question these things Rich...

@damon - please take note. This is how it's done.
Jesus, everyone ok? Did you go down as well @Ecobeard? Sorry to hear there was carnage last night @dan
