• The fit is far from 'dialled', this was just a post I had knocking about, but I'm still playing with stem length/saddle height. I also can't work out whether I get on with the cambium, it just feels too hard and wide (oo er) to me.

  • I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the Cambium - I'm also currently going through a period of trying to get mine set up properly (also on a Croix de Fer). It seems very sensitive to position. You have to be perfectly central on it to get the hammock effect. Too far back and you're on the back-plate and get no bounce. Too far forward and all your weight is on your gooch. I'm also struggling with level. What seems fairly flat becomes very nose-high when you sit on it and the carcass flexes.

  • I normally ride Ariones and shift about a bit on them. I've never got on with any Brooks (apart from a 1950s Professional which is wonderful) as I find them too sensitive to position (as you say).

It's just SO much wider than an Arione, and that combined with the sticky weather today made it incredibly uncomfortable even just down to the shop. It felt fine this morning; comfy, even.

I've shifted it back a bit from that photo and it does seem a bit better, but I need to keep fettling!
