  • Generally, if my bike is nice enough to require clippies, I don't want to lock it up outside the shops, so I have a beater with flats on it. Its different since you're fixed, though.

    I'd just put flats and straps on it for general use, then change pedals when I rode it 'properly'. Takes 30 secs and is one less thing to think about.

    Depend I guess, a fixed with low gearing, sweep back and a front brake would be fine with big MTB flat pedals.

    I think big strap would be fine for everyday riding.
