  • I cycle home through this junction every day. The main road veers around to the right, Hanworth Road is actually a left hand turn, although in reality it looks like it is 'straight on' unless one reads the road markings, there are no other road signs to confirm this.

    I used to follow the main road for quite some time, however I had so many near misses (people turning left at this junction, not signalling and thinking that they are in the right) that I now just go left, navigate through Feltham, and add another half km to my commute.

    In reality the junction needs to be changed: road markings and signs need to be changed so that right hand lane is marked ahead only, left hand lane marked as left hand turn only. Oh, and drivers need to follow these signs....

  • I used to use the Hanworth Road but changed to Staines Road and through the high street. Less hairy and I hardly notice the difference in distance. Actually the beginning of Hanworth road in Hounslow is rife for left hooking unless you position yourself properly.
