Some nice photos here. I'm looking for a longer lens for my wife's Nikon 3200 as a present, what kind of price range is an OK bottom end lens? It'd be used for wildlife so I'm thinking 200mm or 300mm. As far as I know the stock lens has been fine for her as a beginner so any new lens wouldn't have to that superior to it. Any advice or recommendations?

Fixed 200 or 300mm lenses are rather limiting, and also pretty expensive.
Why not go for a longer zoom lens?
There's a 55-200mm (that's 85-300 on the Nikon 3200) that's supposed to be really good, also has built-in VR (stabilisation), which I would really love to have with longer focal lengths.

inspire confidence.

£300 too high for X100 with leather cover, flash and posh filter (plus extras)? Need cash, PM me if anyone want it. I dread eBay.

Got back from a trip to Scotland today. I'm glad I decided to bring the proper camera over a compact, I feel like I got some really great shots. Was a little fiddly packing wise but it worked out all right. Next time I'd probably bring a compact in addition for quick snapshots (I find the camera on my iPhone too unreliable).
