  • Look mum no hands.. Is that any good? Or others?

Cyclelab. Yours is the bent RS80, right? Is the rim particularly out of true when rotated? Does it have a flat spot? It might be that you'd have to do wild things to the tension in the spokes to get it near-true again which would make for an unreliable wheel. As replacement rims are pricey it might well be beyond economic repair. But yeah get someone to look at it again if its not obvious.

  • Hi

Thanks, yeah I have the bent RS81s... What is a flat spot :( Actually took it to Look mum no hands (as didn't see ur reply in time) and they retuned all the spokes and showed me that the wheel was still slightly untrue.. So not completely straight.... Also not 100% round as 1 little area bumps out slightly. He didn't charge me anything and said that it should be fine to ride, but you may (psychologically) feel a difference. Is he right in saying it's okay to ride? Seemed like a nice mechanic.

  • Trust the mechanic at LMNH who has actually seen it, or some randoms off the internet?! Sounds like it probably won't fall apart on you, but you'd be better off getting a new wheel.
