First single speed, new or second hand?

Posted on
  • I've seen some companies like NoLogo and Mango do new single speed bikes for around £200-30. From a quick search everyone seems to have a low opinion of them.

The main use is to commute a couple of miles to central London for work .

If I get one second hand, is the general advice to just post in the Wanted section?

I'm also a short arse so would need a 49/50 frame which I guess narrows the second hand market even more.

    Cheers

  • Look at the for sale threads.

  • Look at the for sale threads.

  • Complete beater for sale at £45 in sale threads today (may have gone allready at that price) but it's a 56cm.
    Try a wanted add.

  • Thanks, I'll keep an eye out on the sale threads.

Also what do people thing of the Charge plug 2?

  • Yeah. Get the plug, they're an excellent first biek, lots better than the Mangos, Foffas and Quellas.

Shopping round the classifieds is great once you know what you're doing, but for a first timer the reliability and ease of something new is best.

  • Yeah Charge plug is a gateway drug

  • Kona paddy wagon
    my first fixie
still have it now there was a few lingering on ebay decent prices good all round frameset
