enve cx fork but avid disc?

I think that photo's at least two years old, so fewer options back then perhaps?

I'm patiently waiting for thru f+r to become common in cross before I bother with disc brakes. By then maybe they'll have more SSCX hydro-dropbar lever options.

Very tasty. But needs black components to offset the colour, food for thought?

First post, and straight in with a reader's wife. Sorry if that's bad form. Felt Breed, which came into my possession around December. Frame and forks kindly gifted by a friend, most other kit was just what happened to be knocking around in the spares pile, except for posh new SRAM force CX cranks.
Haven't had chance to race it yet, despite being in Leeds and having the Yorkshire summer series on my doorstep. Just don't seem to be able to get out of work early enough to travel to races. Will build up a tub wheelset and hopefully get along to a few of the proper races come autumn. It's a great bike, I've not picked up my Kinesis Pro6 since getting this.

Bad form is your katarsis in this thread - saving us from the nutters on this forum hovering around in other threads delivering wikipedia on your doorstep.
Tubs is a splendid idea - makes the world of a difference in CX(racing).

Yeah, have a tub wheelset built up for the Pro6, which has seen a fair amount of race action in the past. I've just got lazy in the last 18 months or so.
Will probably just swap the hubs out for non-disc numbers. Can't really justify two pairs of tub wheels for the minimal number of races I can realistically commit to.

Still perfoming like a dream, 280km mostly gravel in Sweden in 3 days. Tyres challenge baby limus.

I've just added rear brake and put cx tyres on.
Is it allowed in here now even if it's fixed?

Even more when it's fixed

I'd forgotten just how much fun trails can be. It's proper mtb country up here near The Adrenaline Gateway and I've not been on the trails for years. They're really well compacted stones in most places with just enough exposed natural granite to not need suspension.
Though 60" on the road descents home are painful.
Ps,
Sorry for the shitty phone photos (sometimes iPhones not great) -

To all you guys who actually race SSCX; do you think 34x18 is too small a ratio? I'm torn between going with that or a straight 2:1 34x17.
-
• #2970
I found 34/17 a tad too big for racing.
-
• #2971
34x17 is the same as 38x19 and what I've settled on this summer.
I've not done enough mud yet to have sorted a gear for those conditions - your 18t might be good there.
-
• #2972
in my pretty limited experience 38/19 is about right for most courses, it does depend a bit though. on a dry day on a reasonably flat course i run an 18.
