Everyone should own a Seven thing once in their life.

I want an air cooled 911 again, dagnabbit.

Pre litigation westfield ;)

no, get yourself a nice 996, like this one > http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C627586
-
• #24034
Call that £16k, I'd have to finance that. Which won't be on the cards for now, but that aside how much cash would a 996 eat in servicing and consumables over 12 months, counting on 3-4,000 miles/year.

I had one once. And a post-lit SE. They were fine, but ultimately never as nice to drive as a Cateringvan. Get the real thing. Or if the budget won't stretch something designed by Jeremy Phillips.

£1500 year on average. They'll occasionally have a £1000 failure like a variocam solenoid, but you'd be unlucky, £1500 is pretty safe. Probably.

I'd prefer a manuel 4wd coupe (I know I know, that makes me a blouse, but the period I use a car the most is over Christmas every year), are they a lot more cash than the auto?
-
• #24038
Hmm, £9,500 for a Manuel https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/11055350_10155681514900461_6892377096338019340_n.jpg?oh=d77e481fe8a68d0f3323c7e0fe57bf79&oe=56285A9D
7 owners though.

interesting fork picture..
i thought you'd have 16k in loose change, being dinky n'all

Magnus Walker has only popularised what Rod Emory, RGruppe and others had been doing to early model 911's and 365's.
Singer, for me at least, are RestoModing commissioned pieces.
-
• #24041
7 owners isn't ideal, but whaddya want for nine-and-a-half bags? You can barely buy a purple Enve fork for that.
-
• #24042
Hah, but of a copy and paste fail there. There is a manual C4 on eBay, blue, for £9,500 BIN. If the engine went Poom! How much for a decent recon? Scrap the car and suck it up time?
-
• #24043
That will be fine. Best colour combo and I really like the XE motor over the K series, both cos it's torquey and I think the extra weight gives the car a more lively turn in.
-
• #24044
Those that are going to go pop probably have already. I had one that belonged to a Belgian fellow who commuted it to London once a week, it had done 270,000km.
If it does you need Hartech. I can't remember what they charge. £6k?

JE development V8....I'd replace the carbs for fi set up.
-
• #24046
Of course, I'd need to sell the Volvo, which would mean losing a massive stack of cash. Hmm.
-
• #24047
I've spent 4k on the Volvo this year, to put that in perspective.
-
• #24048
n+1 dammit, get another lock-up
-
• #24049
Wow
