It's not really about the lens: it's to do with the front wheel being turned slightly; it's leant against a wall; the position of the camera being above the bike looking down; the fact that it's probably a fairly wide angled lens and so the edges of the photograph are 'stretched' - nobody's suggesting the rear-wheel is oval shaped, for example, yet that's how it looks in both the pictures above.
