BUMP!
I'm having a spot of bother with my front Paul hub. The bearings are grinding like Miley Cyrus at an awards ceremony.
I've no problem with replacing cartridge bearings and I've got a set ready to go, but the problem is getting at 'em.
As you can see on the pic, the bolts unscrew and remove, then the nut is loosened on the left to allow access to the adjuster ring (the part with the grub screw, behind the bolt).
All good so far.
The problems begin on the right hand side. The nut on that side is tightened up to the dome shaped spacer, which is in turn attached to the axel. When you try to turn it, the whole piece spins on the axel. There's nowhere to attach a spanner to get leverage against the untightening of the bolt.
Any suggestions? Anyone successfully worked on Paul hubs?
