  • Anyone playing Witcher 3 much then? I've finished the 1st (White Orchard) bit, but the combat feels so clunky and there's so much to talk to and loot that it kind of feels like actual work rather than a game. Being questioned about my involvement in past events (presumably relating to the first two games?) didn't help me feeling of boredom either.
    Is it worth persevering?

  • Is that what happened? I skipped the cut scenes (except the nicely rendered stuff but there were only about 3 of them) I didn't realise Betty thought the Boyf was ded. Makes fractionally more sense now.

  • So the cutscenes I feel really bring the world alive, but it drives me nuts every time I need to talk to a merchant! It also helps that I've played 1 and finished 2. So I imported my saved game and it made sense to me. Literally played and finished 2 about 1 week before 3 came out.

The combat is a bit easy, try going for harder level enemies. I'm big into just roaming around and seeing whats out there. Level 22 now and my main quest line is grey since I've ignored it for so long :)

  • SC2 campaign is terrible, laddering is a much better test of skills, It's all about trolling bronze leaguers.

  • i'm too nervous to play other people - i don't take disappointment well. besides, i have t6 monk gear to farm.

  • Batman removed from Steam.

I always found rts online way to stressful, each game was just an intense panic. My childhood of building badass bases in Red Alert 2 did not prepare me for it at all

  • am level 25 now. have pretty much grinded 98% of the stuff to do in novigrad and leven now and working my way around skellige.

really enjoy playing gwent and am good at it but only one of my decks (the original one) is actually usable. the others all need shit loads of cards beyond the minimum of 22 to be worthwhile and am running out of merchants to get them from.

it's fun but the side quests and contracts (turns out because i'd been avoiding these was why my levelling took forever at first as they're high xp usually) are all getting a bit samey now. the big scripted quests are fun though. but when you run into a quest giver and for the fifth time in the row it turns out to be an ambush setup you kind of wonder if they ran out of ideas at some point.

other than finding/crafting witcher gear the loot is basically pointless too other than for selling for cash and I now have over 21k and 159/160 weight in crafting/usable items and 2 full sets of witcher gear.

  • Anyone play NationStates?

  • Used to play it years ago, but had forgotten all about it. Aren't the forums full of paranoid political conspiracists? That seems to be my overriding memory of it.

  • Re: Mac games, new Tomb Raider is good, and check out Steam for more. Fez and Nidhogg are awesome.

  • oh this has been a brilliant few weeks for games on my xbox. Ive gone from barely playing to hammering lego Jurassic world, batman arkham knight, the long dark (surprisingly brilliant) and my favourite elite. So glad I stuck with it instead of trading it in earlier this year.

  • I used to play it years ago too, started up again about three weeks ago.
I never go on any of the forums but I'm enjoying progressing my nation.
    I don't think I'm playing it properly.
I'm stuck on 'Scandinavian Liberal Paradise' at the moment, finding it hard to improve my developing economy without sacrificing my superb civil rights and good political freedom.

  • Got batman today.... before I could play it i had to delete about 5 games of my hdd 😐 lucky I backed the saved data.

    Anyone upgraded the ps4 hdd?

  • Dark Souls 2 on ps4 is kicking my arse. Barely in the game and i am struggling. Not even had a boss fight yet.
Keep sacking it off for CounterSpy.

Also, considering a wireless headset for the PS4, either the Sony official one or a tTurtle Beach Stealth 400 (both are about the £80 mark) any opinions, experiences or advise?

  • Is it worth me buying a new PC for £500 (I'm guessing) so's I can play Fallout 4 in all its glory?

  • I too am struggling with this conundrum.

If I bought a new mac, and run it in paralells...

  • Which will not sufficient by the time Fallout 4 is out.

  • Bootcamp install might be.

Whatevs might just get a PS4

  • Boot camp made the Macintosh into a remarkable windows computer, probably helped by the old hardware that's now stable.

  • This is nice. A fucking scary shitty pants game, which despite the US accent is clearly based two streets away from where I live.

  • At first I was like "scary my arse, this looks like a foxtons listing" and then fecal matter started to leave my body.

Also, Allison road is round the corner from me.

  • Not sure if a Dark Souls 2 reference or not ...
