Look KG243 Frame

I am thinking about buying this Look KG243 Frame.

Price: The seller is asking for about 550 quid.

Nice but a bit expensive maybe? It is mint condition, but £550 for a vintage steel frame is still a lot

For reference whole kg243 builds go for anything between 25oeur and 400eur here in France in the classifieds, and when frames do come up on ebay I'm sure they're about the same.

I think that whole build of mine was about 400eur.

Was a bit short for me but I liked it enough, it's a very stiff, very heavy frame, tracks nicely, bit harsh on the cobbles (wheelset could have played a part in that tbh), nice shiny paint that flakes off impressively quickly around the BB and headset.

Would buy again - but not at £550. I personally wouldn't pay more than 250eur for a really good condition one (no rust, no paint flaking off). It's a nice frame but you can get something else with a little more give, a little lighter, nicer on longer rides - particularly for £550. You can get equally nice frames for far less if you look around

Everything @Tychom says is spot on. I've been looking for one for a while to match my gf's one acquired end of 2013. Complete bike was 220 eur on ebay, and then spent a bit more getting it right. They're nice, but important to remember they're still just mid-range mid-90's steel.
That one's exactly what I'm after, but not that price.
