Those magnet fairings - not sure it's be potholes worrying me. It'd be the wind shearing them off at 50+kph. Need to see high speed testing. I don't mind the idea though, body kitz for beikz.

our disc wheel is nearly 150 grams lighter than a Zipp Super-9 Carbon Clincher Disc.
It's not hard to make a covered spoked wheel which is lighter than a solid disc

So what are the benefits of a real disc wheel. Surley the aerodynamics of both would be very similar?

Do what are the benefits of a reap disc wheel.
Has anyone really been far as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

What are the benefits of a real disc wheel over a regular wheel with covers? Surely the aerodynamics of both would be very similar?

Not really, a covered spoked wheel has to flare out to at least the flange spacing of the base hub, whereas as true disc can be whatever width the designer chooses all the way from hub to rim. Also, it's harder to make the profile continuous from flange to bead if you're adding covers to a spoked wheel. The differences are in the area of small marginal gains, and dependent on what frame is feeding air onto the disc.

Àh. Apologies for the poor spelling.
^^thanks

Air pressure is crucial tho. Be sure to only use your disc when there is a low. Ask Bradley.

If you were right, they'd still be making them :-)
With enough capital, the minor problems which Kirk had could probably have been sorted out, but the basic idea of a die cast frame could never be competitive on performance at the high end, nor price competitive with welded steel in the BSO market.

Very rare you see one that still has its dropout attached.
-
• #738
Also I wouldn't have thought that a combustable frame was really one of its unique selling points.

someone said those kirks can be a bit laterally uncompliant

Frames have been made from magnesium alloys before and since, as have motor vehicle and aircraft parts, including engine parts. It's actually pretty hard to set light to bulk magnesium. It's also possible to make steel self-sustain combustion in air if you divide it finely enough, and aluminium and titanium sit somewhere between the two in terms of how thin you have to slice them before they burst into flames.

Quite like this one.

Would buy for my dad. -

Just lease a fucking Hyundai.
Old people bikes don't need all that tech. Actually, nobody does, but when a bike is mostly combined shopping trolley and walking frame, a Dutch bike or an old English roadster is pretty close to perfect.

Why is his bag upside-down?

• #745
Why is his shirt buttoned up? I don't know, but being the type of actor that can't fix punctures I presume he can't work out how to use a courier bag either.

And that's a pretty decent size too. Just about the size of a folded up tub...
Aww... :(

Holy shit. That's hideous and absolutely stupid. It makes zero sense.
Reminds me of this:

It makes zero sense.
Actually according to aerodynamics, it in fact makes a lot of sense.

I'm skeptical. But if he was really concerned with aerodynamics and "fucking" the UCI it would be a recumbent.
