  • no need to worry, you´ll be fine same as your tattoos will.

  • this aint no swellbow mate, this is

  • Late to this, but never mind... My first tattoo was by Matt (henbohenning) & it is amazing, super nice guy too. The piece healed quickly & without any problems, can't recommend him enough!

  • Really like how the ink settle in nicely, never usually like horticulture tattoos but that one is great.

  • i'm an absolute sucker for plant/flower tattoos, especially in black linework. it's all i want these days (plus some dodgy stick n pokes for good measure). ^^that's right up my street! looks lovely.

this year i'd like to get kola working on my other knee and shin. strange how the more tattoos you get, the more empty space you see. i wish i had more money!

@Cazakstan yeah, scott tattoos my friend and @±ln(x) 's mrs, she got a moth a year or so ago:

  • matt cooley:

  • ^^ Lovely moth! I need cash monies for tattoos. Need to sell some stuff haha.

  • need artist suggestions. Want a tattoo of a hotdog with corpse makeup squirting himself with mustard.

Kinda like a black metal version of this guy:

Black and grey, mostly line work, quite sketchy. I was going to ask Sarah Keeley to do it, as she's done some other stuff on me and it's that kind of style i want., but she buggered of to Canada for the forseeable. Raph Cemo does most of my other work, but this is miles away from his style.
So yeah, someone thats good at black and grey sketchy sort of style, and also has a good sense of humour and doesnt take themselves too seriously!

My IG has thrown up nobody that i think would fit the bill. Happy to travel and pay top dollar.

    Any suggestions?

  • rebecca vincent or alice of the dead? not sure if sketchy enough tho, do you mean sketchy like this?

  • Moomin reaper is rad

  • This will definitely have been asked before so apologies for dragging it up again....

How long between an inking and exercise?

Am getting a calf tatt on Tuesday and run and ride quite a bit - so no impact sport and I don't race so less chances of crashes etc (touch wood). Obviously it's not tights / trousers when exercising weather at the moment so there will be nothing rubbing on it, was thinking more about sweat.

  • Personally I always give it 10 days before I get back on the bike and do a 'proper ride'. I don't think sweat should be too much of an issue so sure you'll be fine if you allow a bit of a gap.

  • I am just about to ask my tattoo guy this question, will let you know when he gets back to me, but why don't you ask yours? Always following the aftercare instruction...

  • as long as there is scab (even the super thin one) on, no training, exercise or heavy sweating.

make sure to avoid any mecanical stress, anything that will force the scab to come off before it peels off by itself is no good. heavy sweating will soak the scab which will make it more fragile.

when the scab is removed by mecanical stress, your body has to produce new, this kinda push the pigments out of the skin, the worst result would be no more colour in the skin.

  • I'm going to Frith Street Tattoos and rang them yesterday - they said as long as you're not wearing clothes that may rub the scabs (i.e., shorts on a calf tatt is ok), and it's a non-contact type sport, you should be ok after a few days - but be sure to give it a good wash after to keep it clean of sweat etc.

Did you hear from your guys?

  • No, sorry, keep forgetting to email him, I think I am just gonna ask him on the day. It is what it is, even if he say I can't ride for a month I would still want that tattoo, so...

  • practiced on oranges and stuff like that, maybe twice, then i grabbed a friend

    lol

  • Ha, amazing! It's not a bad idea, actually. And perfect for hipster tattoo practice!

  • Right, I am having my next tattoo done on 15 July, exciting time! And Noon is gonna draw directly onto the skin, so not sneaky preview... It's a funny feeling.

A question, I am then having an MRI scan done the next morning, I have heard stories about MRI scans and tattoos don't always agree with each other, I don't suppose a fresh tattoo is any difference to an old one in terms of having (if unluck) reaction to the MRI scan?

  • Joe Chatt (works at The Dungeon) did my stomach a few months ago. He's such a nice guy, super friendly and his work is so clean. Its also very trad, if that's what you're into. Cant wait to get something else from him very soon!
