Its not the only time its happened either. If the delivery says its going to be done by yodel i have to really think hard before buying. Unless its an amazing deal I just don't bother, I think @TW is right; they are illegally massaging the stats so they can claim a better service to clients.
last year the amazon comments section about delivery services had to be closed and reopened because of yodel complaints threads.
Didn't know this thread was here. Heres my mini rant;
Expecting a large parcel and took time off to wait for delivery a few weeks ago (ish), can see the door through the window. A fella in a motorcycle helmet walks up posts a 'you were not in for the delivery' notice through the door and leaves. When I realise its Yodel I rush out to grab him and see him pulling away on his Moped, no parcels, no boxes, just a guy on a moped.
Phoned the number on the card and was told that because i wasn't in at the agreed time ill have to wait a week. I point out Im in my house holding a card posted through the door while I was in and it is not yet the the agreed time. I also point out that no attempt was made as the person delivering was on a moped and did not have my parcel. They tell me they have no responsibility because the delivery driver is an independent and i should take it up with them.
I felt very virtuous for keeping my cool. I phoned the retailer to complain and they said it was yodels issue once on delivery.
Getting pretty irritated now, phone yodel demand management, 45 minutes on hold and then they call me a liar. I explain that its still not the agreed time and that im being given the run around, I get called a liar again so I say Im going to seek legal advice. I get put on to the next manager up, who apologises accepts no responsibility but will see what he can do. Parcel ends up at my house an hour later delivered by courier from different company.
TL:DR
Yodel are appalling.
