I'm running a single 42t at the front, kept dropping the chain until I stuck an old mech on, never had a problem since. I'd love a narrow/wide ring but no one makes them in 135bcd.

I have a 135bcd bashguard - which might help (it certainly did when I ran 1x10) which you are welcome to for a fiver.

Oh that might be just the ticket. I can't remember which side the chain would drop but I think it was outside. I'd love to loose the mech. Where you based? Or would it be posted?

You should be able to pair that guard up with a dog fang and be sorted for drops on both sides.

I'm in Bristol - cant see postage costing much though.
Will check its size this evening - as I think I ran it with 39t. -

Does any of you have experience with using a 29'' mtb rim for a fixed gear. Thing about buying something like a Mavic XM319

Wasn't Mavic G40 the original 29er rim? In that case, I'm sure loads of people have ridden road fixed on 29er rims :-)
Why not just get A319, it's basically the same as the XM319 except that Mavic have taken the anodising off the brake track for you, so it doesn't end up embedded in your brake pads.

Can't see the pics here, but I'm guessing we're not talking about a mountainbike, so you're referring to the difference in pull ratios between Shimano 10s road and 10s MTB?
-
• #102537
Yes - specifically that you can't use Shimano's road shifters with their shadow+ clutched ten speed mechs.

No foot retention?
Frame looks good. What is it?

needs a Record Ti seatpost, or something shiny at least :)
No, it's just a road ring. I'm still not sure what gearing I want but I had a 46 around so used that. As I said; yet to get out on it properly!
