Looks like a pornworthy build, I'll keep an eye out for it this weekend!

Nice! Was Jan able to date it for you? From the lugs and tubeset it looks like the Venus perhaps. It's almost certainly one of their custom builds anyway.

this is gonna look stunning! love the combination of colors and the NOS groupset!
Also the frame lugs are lovely and notice the bottle cage braze-ons...attention to details = quality frame.

I find the Arabesque to be the nicest looking vintage groupset and superb quality as well! Awesome!!!
Just, it seems that the frame takes recessed bolt brakes, and the ones you have are not...or are they?

good spot! When I was building my Holdsworth I had the same problem. Got recessed brake calipers and needed nutted ones (or was it the opposite?)

He started out here in the Netherlands early 1980 or something. So there must be some more lying around but not much I guess.

Nice!

1982 I think - it says so on the headbadge :) He had to retire from pro racing in the late 70s after a crash, and like ex-racers did in those days, became a framebuilder.
The nutted brakes will still fit. You might need some washers to get spacing right so the nut still screws on. And something to pad out the recess around the bolt... sometimes a presta valve washer/lockring works when threaded onto the brake bolt.

It's growing… I personally love how the Arabesque down tube shifters match the lugs!

Absolutely lovely. When do you plan to have it built?

I hope to have it finished around the first week of july. First I have an Everest to climb this sunday. I guess some recovery time and then some more work. I guess the fine-tuning will take most of the time.

Definitely a great frame set! Can't wait to see the final result.

Oh my, those lugs! Match perfectly with the Arabesque. For a moment there, thought you'd be rushing to build it for this weekend but then the penny dropped. Will be watching this with interest. :)

I've found this N.O.S. dutch manufactured leather racing saddle with titanium rails to go with bike. I think it matches perfectly with it. Dutch frame-dutch saddle. Something different from the usual Brooks.

Just started rebuilding my Colossi frame. I've found this frame in a cycleshop in the Netherlands and didn't knew anything about the brand or the builder, Jan Kole. I'v found out that the builder moved to china and started a frame building factory over there. I'm collecting nice dutch build bikes and got interested in the story of this builder.
When I contacted him about the frame he made the suggestion that he would restore it for me. So when he was back in the Netherlands for a family visit I brought it to him and he took it with him to China for the restoration. And now it came back last week and I could start rebuilding it for the Eroica in September. I'm going to use as many NOS parts for it including: NOS Shimano Arabesque group set, NOS Lepper titanium saddle, Benotto tape etc. I'l ry to post some pictures of the steps and the final result.
