  • +1 for CNC. Ordered a bunch of stuff from them on Friday and it turned up today. So cheap.

  • Would indeed be a nice finishing touch, you offering?

  • No worries, aside from clearance they're a lovely set of forks especially if you're looking for some to match well with an external headset.

I've got another 24mm front wheel with a 25mm GP4seasons fitted, it's not at home at the moment but when I get it back (probably tomorrow) I'll chuck it in the Reynolds forks and report back

  • I always wondered about this bike, how's the handling with the road fork? particularly when taking it out loaded up.

  • The geo was designed with a road fork in mind and it handles great. The steering is sharp, that combined with the high BB makes it feel like you can really dive into corners but the long wheelbase keeps it pretty stable. With the Reynolds fork and Flo front wheel it feels really nice and direct in comparison with the Alpina forks which are a bit flexy under hard cornering and when climbing (out of the saddle).

I've only ever rear loaded this bike for shorter trips and then I did notice some under-steer on technical descents (like any rear loaded bike) but if I were to go long-haul on it I'd distribute the weight better and can't foresee there being any handling issues.

  • Maybe after payday...

  • Great, would still be interested if the 25s show room to spare. However, think I'll probably wait a bit, save my pennies and go for the Columbus Minimal. Look like they offer a touch more clearance, carbon everything, and the red decals just have it over the yellow for my steed.

  • New stem arrived

  • -17 zipp? Looks sick.

  • Yep -17x130mm Zipp, feels spot on with those bars. It's very shiny though compared with everything else

  • Here's my other front wheel with the 25mm tyre on, I would say the gap's reduced to 1-1.5mm each side. Would be very tight with a 28 on a similar, wide rim but if you're running narrow rims it'd fit.

Tbh I was tempted by Minimals for this, they're quite a bit lighter thanks to the carbon steerer, but once I stumbled across the Reynolds at that price it was a done deal.

  • So good.

  • Looking pretty damn good sir. Excellent job.

  • Thanks, yep super tight. Not sure I need the hassle /risk.

For this beauty, think the Reynolds is a no brainer. Price and style. The yellow accents are perfect.

Also, stem maybe shiny, but the rims are too, which holds it all together...

  • I had a similar conundrum to you this week, wanted some nicer riding, comfier potentially larger tyres for my everyday wheelset. Glad I went with 25s in the end (though 27s would have fit) which feel both quick and comfy and should leave room for guards come winter

  • Best topic ever !

  • So to continue documenting the progression of these two bikes….I took a trip to Holland a while back, was injured and couldn't ride hard so added a rack to the Dolan to carry a lock, jacket and shopping while cruising the cycle paths. I've left it on there since and it's been really useful for work so thought I'd go full practical and add guards too. PDW full metal fenders are perfect for use on a fixed/single speed as the safety release allows the rear wheel to be removed easily in case of punctures/changing gear.

Meanwhile the Orlowski got put through its paces (and thankfully not crashed) this weekend at RHC

    cheers @HoKe for the pic

  • qualifying results?

  • This could potentially be up for sale…

It's a bit of a niche one I know, a track frame with rack mounts, 60cm sq, looks lovely and rides even better.

It's pristine and I really don't want to have to sell so it won't be going cheap but if you're interested PM me

  • ^ the Orlowski that is

    :(

  • Nooooooooo.

  • damn, i'd have your arm off for this frame, just too long for me :(

  • Don't sell it..!

  • Whaaaaat?!!!
