Hmm... 99% sure I am opting for the fixed gear. Better suited to urban riding at a sensible pace.
The big question I suppose is whether it will rain, as it means the difference of between bringing a bag of extra stuff (waterproof kit, dry socks etc) or just the stuff that fits in my jersey pockets. The weather forecast has that single droplet symbol so perhaps it's the kind of thing that can be HTFU'd, especially given the warm weather.
