Putting together this wee balance bike for my wee Godson. Always meant to build a frame so this is an easy way in. Don't think I have the patience for a big boys bike though.

A bit of a de javu, but somehow I got my hands on another frame again.
This will be a slow build as there are two other bikes that needs to be finished.

Quick questine - I have SRAM S500 brake levers - I need the road version of BB7 callipers, don't I?
-
• #102516
Yes
-
• #102517
Rats. They cost more than the mtn levers :/

1x10
46 x 11-36Ill at the moment so can't even get out on it but not sure how stable that chain will be on the front. Is it worth trying to bodge a chain keeper?
-
• #102519
If you ride off-road you'll need something.
-
• #102520
If I flatten and shorten an old front mech it'll do the job, yes? Doesn't need to be anything fancy, as far as I can make out.
-
• #102521
if u hit a pothole you'll need one (or wolftooth etc.)
-
• #102522
This'll do for now. Wolftooth would look better but £££
-
• #102523
Assuming an SS-specific ring the chain keeper might not be necessary.
Clutch mech?
-
• #102524
Neither by the looks of it.

This is fine yes.
Slammed stems on a well fitted lopro can be brutal..
1 inch+ from slammed makes a world of difference on ride trust me.
@Uoeno Try some bullhorns on this plZ?
