  • Well in an effort to not be Negative Nancy I went to Regents on the fixed 48x16 to see what I could hold for an hour just in case I'm faster than I thought and maybe sign up for this. However I think my result means I'm better saving my entry fee for training sessions at Herne Hill :)

  • I'll be happy to qualify for the last chance race. It's an opportunity to be part of the first london RHC. You are unlikely to win unless you are an experienced crit racer. Just go along and enjoy the ride. :)

    Strong Thundercats line up btw

  • Tbh I just want to not crash

  • It's an opportunity to be part of a sick vimeo on prolly.

    ftfy ;)

  • Looks very fun! - a 38/42 km av pace would be tough for me but not impossible, however to run 90inch I can see myself getting dropped at every corner. Leaving out a last minute fall into form I will be there cheering you all on! forum caps to the ready!

  • I'm in :) Never raced before (apart from triathlon and I KNOW that doesn't count) and I'm probably way out of my depth, but fuck it! 27 days to nail that training :0

  • Do some chain gangs asap!

  • What bike do you have? So I know not to be near you.

  • Mash Histogram (obvs ;)) @Sumo

    OK! @iPete

  • Where do I find out about those....?

  • Through a club but if you are not part of one, google race/skills/training events at CycloPark, Hillingdon, Crystal Palace etc.

  • In it for the 'grams m9

  • No one setting up after hours practice runs in retail parks??..

  • There's always this http://www.lfgss.com/events/757/#comment12280125 the night before...

  • I was hoping to get to one of the Conti FG crits as per the other thread for some practice but won't be able to. Will likely be running unnecessary amounts of aero kit (got a reputation to uphold eh) and would prefer not to be crashed out, but do expect it!

Thinking no more than 96", probably 92-94".

  • I've been thinking along similar lines: I went over to Holland last weekend for one of the VVB crits but was injured so sadly couldn't race. I will however be racing as many crits as possible around London in an attempt to sharpen up before RHC.

I'm weighing up the benefits of running expensive kit against the chances of crashing it. I'm thinking aero wheels, cheap everything else.

Also from the info @_badtwin posted and looking at a map, it sounds like it's gonna be a fast not super technical course. With that in mind I'm thinking of running 93" maybe a touch more.

  • What bikes/gearing is everyone else running? Lets see 'em

  • Does anyone know if the womens race typically uses lower gears? I was thinking of going for something under my normal track gear like 86-88 because you know, corners are scary, and being able to slow down a bit easier would be good to keep out of trouble.

But if everyone else is going to be knocking 90+gi I don't want to be left behind.

  • I'll try 90" for qualis and go from there. A non-technical course sounds good!

  • I'd have thought they'd chuck a hairpin in there rather than just a simple loop?

  • They can always make it more technical once they place the fences, not necessarily just by picking streets

  • Really looking forward to going to watch this now. Going to find a good spot (on a straightaway) if other forum peeps want to hang together...

  • I don't think it'll be non-technical but looking at the map I can't see where they'd put anything as extreme as a hairpin in. The Brooklyn course looked pretty testing , especially when pushing/trying to slow down on 90+ g.i. however the Milan course looked pretty fast and flowing…we'll see I guess
