I was in the same boat, just wasn't feeling it/didn't have time. Tried it again, WOW. Music and atmos is amazing, hand to hand combat is really satisfying when you nail it, you are weak and die a lot early on but get a decent sword and level up your magicka and you're less of a jelly manlet.
Slaying your first dragon on your own feels great. And I know these games are made to satisfy the stats nerds but I'm totally ignoring crafting food and potions (just like I did in Fallout) and there's more than enough shit to do to satisfy the more narrative/action-based gamer.

Did the same. All that stuff is more useful/interesting in MMORPGs where there is (ideally) some sort of real economy.
Been thinking about having another crack at Skyrim. Have tried it once before but didn't get too far, just had too much else to do. Should I pick up where I left off or is it worth starting again to refresh what's going on in the story?
