The black bar tape is now out of stock, wish I had of picked up on that earlier.

I wore my new JLT pro team bibs this morning on the commute.
Pretty uncomfortable off the bike and then just magically disappeared whilst riding. A bit slippy on the saddle for the first five minutes due to the flat pad and new lycra, but that soon abated too. Really, really nice and for £80 a complete bargain.

I have said it before, once you have worn a pair of PT bibs, there is no going back!
-
• #21006
Oh dear, that may prove expensive for the other three pairs of Rapha bibs I own that are not PT.
Although, to be fair I paid less than £100 for each pair. Sample sales FTW.

Ebay Seatpack arrived, looks good. Found this hack for those who missed out but have kept garment bags & have an old strap to hand:

They haven't issued those garment bags for a long time, but Assos still do ;)

FWIW the Wiggo commemorative t-shirts are up in black, and already on the 'bay at more than double

Good to see Waffa chucking a wodge of cash in to the Bec Hill Climb fund

So basically ebay.co.uk is the new rapha.cc? I don't see what Rapha can do to combat it but it's becoming a bit grating...
-
• #21012
TBH there will always be some bellends willing to pay for the sake of paying when selling yuppie-gear. Rapha have done ok out of that market.
The legitimate Rapha eBay user selling old stock and odd sizes has turned up some bargains. I've had a jersey, several baselayers and caps from them and couldn't be happier.

You should check out the sneaker (trainers btw) game. Pure LOL

Has anyone re proofed a race Cape? Mine gives up after 30-40 mins in light rain which is a pain. After that it still keeps you warm so it's not a huge issue but I'd rather not be totally soaked. Do you have to use the Rapha proofer stuff? I have some nikwax already - or I read that the rapha care products are rebranded grangers?

Just a quick post to say I love my wind jacket.
Such a handy jacket. Keeps the rain off in a bit of a shower and [you] warm thereafter. Keeps the chill off if it's a bit windy. Team with arm warmers for warmth. Breathes well. Packs well. Looks decent.

Does anyone have a coupon they could share? Need some base layers. PM me if so! Thanks :)

• #21017
+1 - I really like it, especially how it breathes. I don't want to be warm, I just want something to take the edge off a chilly ride, and this is the first jacket I've tried which does that.

I used Grangers 2 in 1 but it seems they have changed the name of it to "wash and repel"
also, you need to dry whatever you proofed in the tumble dryer on the cool setting to activate it.
-
• #21019
i.e. if you don't have a tumble dryer you are fucked?
-
• #21020
Launderette?
-
• #21021
You can hang them near a radiator and get a similar effect, I think. That's what I've done the last couple of winters anyway (and for things that are not tumble-dry-able)
-
• #21022
...or iron them.
Cant say I fancey fecking my Race cape more by Ironing though. Its had a tough Winter/Autumm/Summer as it is.
-
• #21023
Iron it?! Zomg. No wai.
Hmm - I don't have a tumble dryer but could try the radiator approach. Or just wash with Nikwax... ?
-
• #21024
Even giving it a blast with a hair dryer will help activate the treatment. Just try and so it evenly all round.
It's less stressful than ironing and less hassle than going to the laundrette.

That sounds far more sensible
spending a tenner on your 4th visit is a shoplifters cry for help ;)
Glad they made some more of the bar tape available, had some for a couple months and its been excellent! 1st batch £60 eBay re-seller prices >>>>
