Fantastic bike (still). Nice matching saddlebag!
Slowly upgrading the cockpit on my Panasonic:
Bars are probably temporary until I can get (no pun intended) my hands on some B125(AA)s. Also planning to change the seatpost to a Nitto 65 probably.

Love, love, love that Panna! Where did you find that frame?

Thanks! Popped up on Marktplaats.nl and picked it up the next day. There (obviously) were more parties interested, but I guess I was lucky and the timing was right.

is there a subtle curve to the seattube or is the photo tricking me?

Nope, your eyes are very sharp!

I've been wanting to try out tt bars, just out of curiosity really, and got some deda extensions. Moving from a road setup with semi-compact drop with levers I changed the stem from 110mm to 90mm. Does this sound about right? Felt fine & position looked ok, but I don't know what I'm doing.

will I die if I file away some of the underside of my Goldsprint's fork crown ?
reason a) fit bigger tyres
reason b) keep current tyres but not have to true wheels so often!Other plans: fit Gamoh rack (and brake?) and commute on it.

Plenty of forks have way less material there

Plenty of forks have way less material there
But they are designed to have less material there.

flat file that shit its not structural

It could be overbuilt or could be hollow...
EBay, used steel fork from nice Reynolds, strip paint, coat, done?

Optical illusion made it look like there's a slight curve on the seat tube.

Are you a dentist looking for more work?

• #102418
There is a slight curve in the seat tube (by design).

Hope she enjoys it, looks a lot like the Kona dew drop I built up for my wife as a commuter. Super functional workhorse ftw!

Chopped steerer and threw some bars and wheels to check geo.
Gained 20mm on reach and saddle-bar drop from previous road bike for max aero points.

You don't hang about!
What's the reasoning behind cutting the forks in situ?
-
• #102422
Steerer was too long for optimal stem positioning, I got the Large size so the HT lenght was perfect without spacers.

I understand "why", it's the "how" that I was curious about: you've the left the forks in the frame and mounted the whole lot upside-down in your stand.
I measure up, then remove the forks to cut them: is there a particular reason you've done it this way?
-

You would do that with a standard fork, but not on this :)
There are no measurements to make as if you want to fit the C-stem without the Look spacer there is only one cutting position.
Look gives you a cutting guide to mark the steerer (if you want to get rid of the dedicated spacer), so I marked the steerer and then used a cutting guide with the frame upside down so the dust wouldn't go inside the steerer.
Google up for Look Headfit and it will give you an idea what I'm talking about...
It might be odd for traditional standards, but that's how it works :) -

Gotcha! Thanks for the explanation.
Woah that Battaglin! Such pretty paint all-round.
+1 regards Pilgret matching bra/knickers.
