    at the jolly butchers on weds ( easts isn't dead ) and asked for a pint of bitter, they actually didn't have one available, it was just a line of hand pumps delivering pale ales of various flavours and strengths

    Does my nut in. My local which is supposedly a 'proper beer' pub has 5 pumps of guest ales, each one changed weekly. Every week it's 5 IPAs or 4 IPAs and a light summer ale. All of which taste like potporri blended into pickle juice. You'll be lucky to get 2 bitters and 1 porter/stout out of every 40 ales that come through the place. Angers me no end.

  • That because it's basically summer and all the breweries are producing their summer beers and all the pubs are buying their summer beers. Only freaks that inhabit this thread are drinking stouts.
