nah, we're going to suggest two combined scratch races; a 10km for C cats and Bs who score no points on the night and a 20km for As and Bs who have scored points
-
• #178
Sounds like a cracking idea.

What is a reverse win out? Isn't that a straight elimination race?
Win out is when first across the line is winner and is called out, subsequent laps you call out 2nd, third etc.... Until 2 guys at the end battle for DFL, right? -

I would guess:
first person across the line on lap 1 = 1 pt and out
first person across the line on lap 2 = 2 pts and out
...
etc. -

We're going to have to do first come first served for the support events at Supermad. It's a rubbish idea but one positive is that it will encourage more people to enter in advance if there's a chance they might not get in on the day.

It will also really play into our own club members, rather laid back approach, to the concept of 'getting to sign on early'.....
-
• #185
It's a bit bobbins for the Roadmans - The field normally would start with around 50 riders
-
• #186
Yeah, Roadmans is going to be buggered :( It's a war of attrition as it is, it'll be carnage with a small field.
I don't see it being a problem at league at the moment, but if it does get more popular then they may have to resort to entry in advance only like LVVP league. That would be really crap.

Paying £25, over £15 online. You must be mad to eol.
-
• #188
Oh god please no.. doing that would totally ruin track league. Advance entry makes sense for the Opens though.
-
• #189
Why not just set a points total threshold for the A/B scratch? I.e - anyone with over 30 points can enter or something.
Otherwise you'll get a lot of people moving up into A's just so they can ride that race.Oh.. it would probably mean that someone would to need to update the results spreadsheet in a timely fashion though... Fat chance.

Bit harsh on Sam, I think he's been doing a cracking job with the results tbh.
I agree that advance entry's for track league isnt preferable at all, I don't think there's an easy answer to track limits in races/cats either. it will probably have to be a 'see how it pans out' exercise for track league.
For some of the opens and races like the Roadmans it's a bit of a killer though :(

We've still had 'ef all advance entries for the support events at Supermad, and I'm pretty sure it will fill up on the day. I thought the hike up to £25 on the day would encourage people to enter in advance but apparently not.
We're going to have issues working out the limits - we've always let the sprinters ride the support endurance too, but if the field is full we won't be able to do that. We've no B sprint so there there will be a lot of grumpy non-qualifiers.
Next year the plan is to sack off the support endurance races completely so this won't be an issue.

You're grumpy anyway Dan, so this won't change that. :)
Moves are afoot to keep everyone happy....

It's not next year yet...

Yeah, sorry about that Dimi.
I'll go into detail about the decision on the other thread.

There are no 20km scratch races in the track league in Ireland, we were spoiled with them in hhv, now I have to make do with a 12 lap scratch race (on a good night) for A's, some nights its only 8! There's only one way to ride an 8 lap scratch race....
-
• #199
8 lap? Wtf.
ha ha ha 20k A/B scratches are dooooommmmed
winds Tim Davies up in our club no end.
@owlz tough night for a pursuit that, fair play to the lot of you mad pointed headed weirdos.....
